Where things happen in Rockwall County
Nearly everything in a Rockwall County case happens in one building: the county courthouse at 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane, Rockwall, TX 75087. Family and felony matters are heard on the fourth floor in the 382nd District Court (Suite 402) and the 439th District Court (Suite 401). County Courts at Law No. 1 and No. 2 (Suites 403 and 404) handle misdemeanors, probate and guardianship, along with many civil and family matters.District court filings are maintained by the District Clerk on the second floor. Probate applications, wills and county court records are with the County Clerk in Suite 100. Appeals from any of these courts go to the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas.
Plan for security screening at the entrance, arrive at least 20 minutes early, dress as you would for a job interview, and silence your phone before you walk into the courtroom.
